Information about what's on in Birchwood

Birchwood Youth and Community Centre (BYCC)

BYCC is located on Delenty Drive in Birchwood (WA3 6AN) and it has several regular activities and groups meeting there.  Some activities need to be booked in advance.

Monday – the Flying Pin Cushions 12 – 9 pm.  Email: theflyingpincushions@gmail.com

Tuesday – Birchwood’s Little Lunch Club.  Every Tuesday from 12.00 pm to 1.30 pm. Admission (including lunch) is £1 for each adult and child, plus 50p for each additional child.

Tuesday – Birchwood Creates.  A group for artists and crafters of all abilities who are interested in getting together on a regular basis to practice their hobby in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.  You can learn new skills, share your skills with others and run informal workshops (if you are happy to do so).  The group meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 7 – 9 pm.  Each session costs £3 which includes tea, coffee and biscuits.

Wednesday – Slimming World

Thursday – Pilates with Lynsey* – an exercise class for parents/carers of children under 2 to be able to take part in together.  9.30 – 10.15 am.  Term time only.  £3 per session.

Birchwood Chats – 1.30 – 3.30 pm – refreshments and various activities.  The second Thursday of the months is ‘Film Club’.   Admission, refreshments and activities are free.  Any donations welcome.

Friday – Pilates for the over 50s – 10.00 – 10.45 am  £3 per session.

Friday – DC Mini’s Early Years Football club*  Sessions for parents/carers of pre-school children over 2 years old and children to take part in together. 1.00 – 1.45 pm.  Term time only. £3 per session.

Saturday – Birchwood Repair Cafe on the 3rd Saturday of the month (except December when it might be the 2nd Saturday) 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.  Run by volunteers.  A free community repair service and café with homemade cakes.

Lend a Hand

The Rangers organise workdays in Birchwood Forest Park throughout the year. If you want to get involved in some practical work, learn new skills and meet new people, contact the Rangers on 01925 824239. You must be over 16 years old to take part in these workdays.

Risley Moss Local Nature Reserve
