NOTICE OF ELECTION – Gorse Covert Ward

1. Nomination papers for the Parish Election may be obtained from the Clerk to the Parish Council or from
the Returning Officer at 1 Time Square, Warrington, WA1 2NT. The Returning Officer will, at the request
of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.

2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, 1 Time Square, Warrington, WA1 2NT on
any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4 pm on Friday, 16th October 2026.

3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 12th November 2026.

4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday
27th October 2026. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy
votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at 1 Time Square, Warrington, WA1 2NT by 5 pm on
Wednesday, 28th October 2026. You may apply online or download a form at
https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote or contact the Electoral Registration Office direct.

6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate (free voter ID), or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid
for this election, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at 1 Time Square, Warrington, WA1 2NT
by 5 pm on Wednesday, 4th November 2026. You may apply or download a form at
https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate

7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at 1 Time
Square, Warrington, WA1 2NT by 5 pm on Wednesday, 4
th November 2026.

8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election applied for on the on grounds of physical
incapacity, work or lost Voter ID must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at 1 Time Square,
Warrington, WA1 2NT by 5 pm on Thursday, 12th November 2026.
